A Friend Behind Each Gem

Behind the Scenes Gem Show This past weekend I attended my favorite gem show. I'm lucky to be living in an area where several gem shows take place periodically throughout the year. Gem suppliers from all over the country fly in to show an incredible array of gems, from unusual rare finds to the most popular and prevalent.  Tray of Aquamarine prisms Through the years, I've come to rely on individual suppliers for specific gemstone needs. I have a personal relationship with each of them and that adds meaning to the work I do.  Micro-cut labradorite and spinel gemstones from Anil For high quality labradorite and brilliant micro-cut gemstones, I always go see Anil Kumar and his dear wife, Negam....

Long Herkimer Diamond Necklace for  End of Summer White Party   Summer is coming to an end and I have the fun privilege of celebrating its last days at a White Party. A minimal, all white outfit is the perfect backdrop for the 5 Herkimer Diamond Long Necklace in rose gold. The feminine flow of the necklace contrasts with the clean minimal lines of the white tank, adding just the right amount of sparkle without detracting from the outfit.  Next week, I'll be sharing the story behind herkimer diamonds and how they inspired the new Modern Collection.  Until next time...follow me on Instagram :) Warmly, Rebecca

A Behind the Scenes Story Running a small creative business, you end up wearing a lot of hats. You are designer/maker/salesperson/creative marketer/copy writer/website manager/photographer/editor. Not the "strut your stuff down the runway" kind, but the "let me... m o d e l... that for you" type. Verb, and most definitely, not noun.  Even so, I've had a huge phobia of being in front of the camera as far back as I can remember. I just do not like my picture taken. And unfortunately, looking at past photos,...
